It's amazing how much
you can see in a day.
As flight crew for a major international airline, I am always asked about my travels. One of the most popular questions is, "Do you get any time to check out the cities you go to?" Often - yes - about 24 hours.
One day isn't actually much time to get to know a city, so you've got to hit the ground running. I've had the pleasure of serving the skies for over a decade so I've collected plenty of stories and passport stamps. I've also learned how to maximize my precious time on the ground with the help of my fellow flight crew. After years of making my own vacay in a day, I've decided to share it here with any and all globetrotters.
You'll find “24+ Bonus" material for a few cities that I’ve gotten to know a little better, in case you have more than just a day to check out the area. Don’t feel too overwhelmed if you don’t do it all in a day - seriously! Part of the adventure is going at your own pace. We are literal travel professionals so we have the logistics part down to the T, which is part of what you’ll find in our articles. When you only have a short amount of time in a foreign place, you want to make the most of it without wasting too much time back-tracking or reviewing, and so we hope this helps you enjoy every minute you can in each city.
These following agendas are a few of what we manage to pull off after working all night and grabbing a quick nap and a cappuccino, but again, don't feel pressured to check everything off the list. As you may know, life is short, which is part of why we do what we do.
Hopefully you have slept on your flight upon arrival (with great service) and won't have to worry too much about jet lag before your adventure begins. We would love to hear from you so leave us a comment, like, share, follow, or email us. And stay tuned for more cities being added to the adventure!
Hats off to you, my fellow globetrotters, and congratulations on the step you've chosen to take as a world wanderer. This guide offers some great tips here and there, and I wish you an incredible journey wherever it leads you.
Fasten your seatbelts, ladies and gentlemen...
Ready, set, …jet!!
